Stress Relief for Skin Health: Herbal Infusion Blend
Any way you look at it, skin and stress are undeniably linked.
The skin responds to both internal and external environments and the amount of stress living in the body will directly reflect on the skin.
The body is wonderfully equipped to manage stress and is a protective mechanism the body creates to keep you aware + healthy.
But, when the body is chronically triggered, fatigue, weight gain, lightheadedness, hair loss and skin issues rise.
In times of stress, bodies prioritize survival and may reduce the nutrient supply to the skin because the body doesn’t consider it a vital organ.
A stress-free life is not the goal.
The aim is to manage the response to benefit both overall well-being and the skin.
By finding what supports this skin and stress connection, you’ll enjoy clearer skin, graceful aging, and reduced inflammation.
Here’s my recipe for a skin-stress support herbal infusion:
Ingredients:
Tulsi enhances cerebral circulation while relaxing the central nervous system, bringing mental clarity and calming nervous tension. It helps counteract brain fog and exhaustion, especially after trauma, depression, and anxiety. Tulsi also steadies the adrenal hormonal stress response, improving your ability to cope under pressure. It positively impacts stress-related conditions such as high blood pressure and tension headaches.
Lemon balm is particularly useful for digestive issues worsened by stress and anxiety. It is indicated for anxiety, tension, and mild depression. Lemon balm tea gently lifts the mood and provides comfort during low periods.
Chamomile is an excellent remedy for restlessness, anxiety, and stress-related irritability. It calms the nervous system and relaxes muscles, making it helpful for persistent troubled sleep.
Peppermint is an antispasmodic and relaxant, ideal for musculoskeletal symptoms and conditions characterized by tension and spasms. It aids digestion and helps the mind process new information, difficult emotions, and thoughts.
Directions:
I used: 1 tablespoon of each herb + 4 cups of boiled water. I infused for 15-20 minutes, covered. When ready, I drank it all and reused the herbs for a second infusion later that same day.
