Radiant Glow: Turmeric and Honey Face Mask Recipe
This herb is a powerful herb, much like the sun in its ability to bring warmth and healing. Inflammation-modulating properties that help reduce redness and swelling associated with breakouts; natural antibacterial properties that can help combat acne-causing bacteria, and antioxidants to help protect the skin from free radical damage.
Pairing it with a similar ingredient enhances the potency and adds pH balancing, enzymatic exfoliation, and humectant properties for better hydration and healing.
By combining turmeric and raw honey, you create a potent natural facial mask that can effectively support and soothe inflamed, acne-prone skin.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup turmeric powder
1 cup raw honey
Instructions:
Combine Ingredients:
In a clean jar, combine 3/4 cup turmeric powder and 1 cup raw honey.
Mix Well:
Stir the mixture thoroughly until you achieve a smooth, consistent paste. Ensure the turmeric is fully integrated into the honey.
Store:
Seal and keep it in a cool, dark place for up to one month.
Usage:
Application:
Clean your face thoroughly and pat it dry.
Apply a thin layer of the turmeric and honey mixture evenly over your face, avoiding the eye area.
Leave On:
Let the mask sit for 10-15 minutes. Be mindful that turmeric can stain, so use an old towel or cloth to protect your clothing and surfaces.
Rinse Off:
Rinse off the mask with warm water, gently massaging your skin in circular motions as you go.
Moisturize:
Follow up with your regular moisturizer to lock in hydration. Hazelnut, Prickly Pear, and Camellia seed oil are great oils for oily skin.
Benefits:
Anti-Inflammatory: Turmeric helps reduce redness and swelling associated with breakouts.
Antibacterial: Both turmeric and honey have natural antibacterial properties that combat acne-causing bacteria.
Antioxidant-Rich: The mask is rich in antioxidants, protecting the skin from free radical damage.
Hydrating: Honey is a natural humectant, attracting and retaining moisture to keep your skin hydrated.
Tips:
Patch Test: Always do a patch test on a small area of your skin before applying the mask to your entire face to ensure you don't have an allergic reaction.
Staining: Be cautious of turmeric's staining properties. Use old towels and wear clothes you don't mind staining.
