Refreshing Floral Facial Mist Recipe

Like the proverb: “Opposites attract.”

Differences can complement each other, creating a balanced and harmonious connection. Your skin understands this too. It needs two things: oil + water.

Oil + water are essential for maintaining the balance and integrity of your skin’s microbiome. If you are cleansing your face with oil, a facial mist will enhance the benefits. Because, when used together, they deliver even more powerful, transformative effects.

They address different but complementary aspects of skin health—hydration and lipid balance—resulting in well-nourished, balanced, and radiant skin.

A facial mist, especially one containing hydrating and soothing ingredients, provides an additional layer of moisture and nutrients. It can help to replenish and lock in moisture after cleansing. Additionally, a water-based mist helps to plump the skin and prepare it for the next steps in your skincare routine. The mist can help the skin absorb subsequent skincare products more effectively. When the skin is hydrated, it is better able to take in oils and serums applied afterward.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup Aloe Vera Juice* - Hydrates and soothes the skin, providing anti-inflammatory benefits.

  • 1/4 cup Geranium Hydrosol - Balances sebum production, tightens skin, and provides a calming floral scent.

  • 1/4 cup Rose Hydrosol - Hydrates and refreshes the skin while reducing redness and inflammation.

  • 2 tablespoons Infused Witch Hazel - Acts as a natural astringent, reducing oiliness and tightening pores.

  • 1 teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) - Provides additional antimicrobial properties and helps balance the pH of the skin.

  • 5 drops Rosemary Essential Oil - Acts as a natural preservative with antimicrobial properties, while also stimulating and rejuvenating the skin.

  • 5 drops Essential Oil of Geranium - Promotes skin healing, balances oil production, and adds a pleasant floral aroma.

  • 3 drops Essential Oil of Peppermint - Provides a cooling sensation, reduces inflammation, and invigorates the skin.

  • 3 drops Essential Oil of Lavender - Offers a refreshing scent and helps soothe irritated skin.

Instructions:

  1. Combine Essential Oils and Alcohol: In a small bowl, mix the essential oils with the alcohol until well combined. The alcohol helps to disperse the essential oils in the water-based solution.

  2. Combine Liquids: In a clean, sterilized spray bottle, combine the aloe vera juice, geranium hydrosol, rose hydrosol, witch hazel, and apple cider vinegar.

  3. Add Essential Oils: Add the essential oils. Shake well to mix.

  4. Shake Before Use: Always shake the bottle well before each use to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.

  5. Application: Hold the spray bottle about 6-8 inches away from your face and mist lightly. Use as needed throughout the day to refresh and hydrate your skin.

  6. Storage: Store the mist in the refrigerator to keep it fresh and extend its shelf life.
