Step-by-Step: Crafting a Luxurious DIY Exfoliating Scrub for Beautiful Skin
The dried herb flowers in this exfoliating scrub gently remove dead skin cells, revealing smoother, fresher skin. Combined with prickly pear oil, this scrub not only exfoliates but also nourishes and improves overall skin quality. The prickly pear oil, rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids, enhances skin elasticity and firmness while providing deep hydration.
Prickly pear oil contains more Vitamin E than argan oil. This powerful antioxidant helps protect the skin from free radical damage, promotes healing, and reduces inflammation.
It is particularly high in linoleic acid (Omega-6) and oleic acid (Omega-9), which help to maintain the skin's moisture barrier, reduce inflammation, and promote skin repair and regeneration.
Prickly pear oil is lightweight and non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog pores. This makes it suitable for all skin types, including oily and acne-prone skin.

Herb + Oil Suggestions:
Dried herbs of your choice (click here for suggestions). In the reel, I use lavender, thyme, and rosemary.
Plain carrier oils (click here for suggestions). I make this recipe often and sometimes I will use prickly pear oil in its pure, un-infused form. But, most times, though, I will infuse it with one or more herbs to ensure its potency. I love to use yarrow infused oil for this recipe.

Instructions for Use:
Preparation: Grind 2 T of dried herbs into small particles, being careful not to over-grind them into a fine powder or fluffy consistency. This step helps the herbs act as effective exfoliators and releases their medicinal properties.
Mixing: Combine the ground herbs with 1 T prickly pear oil, infused or not.
Application: Apply the scrub to damp skin, gently massaging in circular motions.
Set: Leave on to dry for a minute or two to really absorb the herbal and plant oil medicine.
Rinsing: Rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat dry.
This herbal exfoliating scrub offers a natural way to rejuvenate your skin, harnessing the power of herbs and prickly pear oil to enhance your skin's health and appearance.
Routine suggestion:
I like to exfoliate two times a week. I usually do my exfoliating in the morning after I splash cool water on my face. Afterward, since the oil still remains on the skin, I don’t apply anything else to my face except a hydrosol or toner.
