Refuse at the Dentist Office

We love our pediatric dentist and the entire staff at our dental office for their sweet disposition; we have been patients since my oldest was 2 years old. He’s almost 13! And, like most kids, we enjoyed the free little toys, toothbrushes, and toothpastes they gave us twice a year. It made for a nice reward and a nice end to the always uncomfortable time in the dentist chair. But as we began our journey towards a zero-waste lifestyle, we found ourselves questioning these small trinkets.

We were pleasantly surprised when we explained our reasoning to the staff and they were more than happy to accommodate our request to refuse the goodie bags. Imagine our delight when at our next visit we were greeted with eco-friendly bamboo toothbrushes and wooden toys for the kids. It was a small but significant gesture that showed the office truly values both our children's dental health and the environment.

Incorporating zero-waste practices not only helps the planet but also brings us closer as a community. And let's not forget the added bonus of a clean bill of dental health for our kids, thanks in part to our homemade toothpaste and constant reminders to brush!
