2-in-1 pods
DIY cleaning products offer the flexibility to tailor them to your specific needs, and that's exactly what I did with these homemade toilet bowl cleaner pods inspired by @Marandas_world’s post on Instagram. Using ingredients that are commonly found under my sink, I was able to create a versatile and eco-friendly cleaning solution that works not just for the toilet bowl but also for the dishwasher. I was pleasantly surprised by the results and I invite you to give it a try and experience the benefits of a cleaner home with minimal effort.
INGREDIENTS
1 c of washing soda
1/4 c of citrus acid
1 tablespoon of Castile soap
2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide
DIRECTIONS
Mix washing soda and citrus acid in a medium-size bowl and stir to combine. Then, add in Castile soap and slowly pour in hydrogen peroxide, being mindful not to over-activate the ingredients. Stir until the consistency resembles wet sand. Pack the mixture into an ice cube tray or silicone mold and let dry for a few hours. Once ready, transfer the pods to two airtight glass containers and store them under your bathroom and kitchen sinks for easy access.
To use in the bathroom: Throw one in the toilet bowl, watch it activate, and then scrub clean.
To use in the kitchen: Add pod to dish detergent compartment, close door, and push the normal wash button.
