Homemade Hair Conditioner: Aloe Vera & Herbal-Infused Oil Recipe
Are you looking for a natural and effective way to nourish and strengthen your hair? Look no further than this DIY hair conditioner remedy. This recipe is perfect for those who infuse their oils with herbs but also includes an option for those who prefer not to.
The base oils of this conditioner, such as jojoba, olive, or almond oil, provide deep hydration to the hair and its follicles, promoting overall scalp health. Infusing these oils with herbs adds an extra layer of medicinal benefits to your hair care routine. The herbs you choose to infuse with can vary depending on your hair type and personal preferences.
For this recipe, I've included options for some herbs and their benefits, but feel free to experiment with different herbs to find what works best for you. Some options include chamomile, lavender, rosemary, and calendula, which are known for their soothing and nourishing properties.
To make this conditioner, heat your base oil of choice with your chosen herbs on low heat for about 30 minutes. Strain the herbs from the oil and let it cool. Apply the oil to your hair after shampooing and leave it on for at least 20 minutes before rinsing it off.
Incorporating this DIY hair conditioner remedy, made with nourishing oils such as jojoba, olive, or almond oil, infused with herbs that suit your hair type, can be an effective and natural way to strengthen, nourish, and promote scalp health without leaving your hair greasy!
INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup aloe vera gel
1/2 tbsp of infused chamomile oil + 1/2 tbsp of infused sage oil = 1 tbsp of jojoba, olive, or sweet almond oil
4 drops of peppermint essential oil + 4 drops of rosemary essential oil = 8 drops of an essential oil of your choice
DIRECTIONS
Mix all together in your *reusable* bottle of choice. Shake to combine, and shake before each use.
To use: Apply after shampooing to benefit the hair and ends. Since the conditioner is oil based, I suggest using only on the last few inches of your hair. Let sit for up to 3 minutes. Rinse clean. If you would like the scalp benefits of the product, apply before shampooing, massage into scalp, and comb into hair. Let sit while you’re bathing or shaving for up to 5 minutes. Wash hair as usual.
