Allspice and Witch Hazel Blend for Soothing Skin

All-Spice and Witch Hazel Aftershave Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup witch hazel

  • 1 tablespoon all-spice berries (or 1 teaspoon powdered all-spice berries)

  • 1 tablespoon dried calendula flowers (or 1 teaspoon calendula, powdered)

Instructions:

  1. Infuse the Witch Hazel:

    • If using whole all-spice berries and dried calendula flowers, combine them with the witch hazel in a clean, sterilized jar.

    • Seal the jar tightly and let it sit in a cool, dark place for 1-2 weeks, shaking it gently every few days.

    • If using powdered all-spice and calendula, add them directly to the witch hazel and let it infuse for 1-2 weeks, shaking it daily.

  2. Strain the Infusion:

    • After the infusion period, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean bowl.

    • Discard the used herbs.

  3. Add Essential Oils:

    • Add the tea tree, lavender, and peppermint essential oils to the infused witch hazel. Stir well to combine.

  4. Bottle the Aftershave:

    • Pour the final mixture into a sterilized glass bottle or spray bottle for easy application.

  5. Use:

    • Apply the aftershave to your face after shaving to soothe and heal the skin.
